91st Missile Group AFSPC Minot AFB, South Dakota HH-1F, LGM-30G 'MT' 740th/741st/742nd Missile Squadrons 54th Rescue Flight

The unit was established as the 91st Strategic Reconnaissance Wing at McGuire AFB in November 1948, operating the B-17, RB-17, TB-17, RB-29 and RC-54. It moved to Barksdale AFB in October 1949 and Lockbourne AFB, OH in September 1951 with the RB-45, RB-47 and RB-50 added. The wing was inactivated in November 1957, but was redesignated 91st Bombardment Wing at Glasgow AFB, MT and activated in February 1963 with the B-52 and KC-135. The unit moved to Minot AFB when it was redesignated 91st Strategic Missile Wing in June 1968 equipped with the Minuteman I and Minuteman III, although only the latter ICBM is currently assigned. The unit was downgraded to Group status on 1 July 1994.
